David Schawel joined Pointe3 Real Estate in March 2019. David got started in the real estate industry originally as a real estate photographer. That soon sparked his love of the real estate process while also giving him in-depth insight on how to market a home to its fullest potential. David is also well-versed in the latest technology and current real estate statistics, making him the ideal agent for any situation. I sat down with David to learn more about him for this month’s Agent Spotlight!
When and why did you get started in real estate?
I started in real estate first as a real estate photographer in 2014 and then got my real estate license in 2016 in Austin, TX
Why did you join Pointe3 Real Estate?
I joined Pointe3 Real Estate because I enjoy that I’m able to help people whether they are looking for an apartment, relocating here to the Seattle area, or buying a property or selling a property.
What neighborhood(s) do you specialize in?
As a real estate photographer, I am very familiar with all neighborhoods of Seattle. I live up in Northgate and am more familiar with the neighborhoods up north.
What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of being a real estate broker?
The most gratifying aspect of being a broker is being able to help people with the biggest purchase of their lives.
What do you foresee in the real estate market as we approach the end of Summer and move into the Fall months?
I think that the real estate market will continue to cool and homes will sit on the market for longer periods of time as we approach the end of summer.
Do you have any advice for someone looking to buy or sell a home in today’s competitive market?
You should work with someone you trust and will show you the comps in the neighborhood where you are looking to buy or sell.
Tell us about you! Where did you grow up and where do you currently reside?
I grew up in northern Idaho, just north of Coeur d’Alene. I then went to Western Washington University where I got a BA in Music. After graduating, I moved to Seattle. In 2010 I moved to Atlanta and in 2014 moved to Austin, Texas and then in 2017, I moved back to Seattle.
What are your passions or hobbies outside of real estate?
I enjoy music, traveling, cooking, golf, going to a Sounders game and enjoying time with my rescue dog Jasper.
What are your favorite things to do in the area?
I enjoy going to Sounders games, hitting the local golf course and trying new restaurants.
