Agent Spotlight: Olivia Watts

Published on October 23, 2019

Olivia Watts joined Pointe3 Real Estate in May of 2018 first as a Relocation Specialist where she assisted transplants in finding the perfect home in Seattle, then soon after becoming a licensed Real Estate Broker. Prior to real estate, she spent 15 years working in the arts where she cultivated client relationships and facilitated the sale of artwork as an Associate Director at a local art gallery, in addition to providing support, exhibition curation, market research, and daily management. Her attention to detail, extensive market and area knowledge, and ability to truly understand her clients’ needs, make her the ideal choice whether you’re buying or selling your home. She has an eye for interior design and is a skilled negotiator, which will assist you in both visualizing and achieving your real estate goals.

I sat down with Olivia to learn more about her for this month’s Agent Spotlight!

1. When and why did you get started in real estate?

I got started in real estate in May 2018 after a long career in the arts. I was looking for a new career path that closely matched my passions and offered more flexibility and growth. I seriously used to look at real estate and rentals just for fun, I am obsessed!

My love for and experience with the PNW’s unique art and design made real estate a perfect combination of all of the things I enjoy most.

2. Why did you join Pointe3 Real Estate?

I love the local, supportive community that Pointe3 offers.

3. What neighborhood(s) do you specialize in?

All of the Seattle proper neighborhoods! I have lived in almost all of them throughout my adult life! I love each one for its distinctive vibe and what they have to offer for everybody’s different interests (Ballard for food, farmers market and Golden Gardens; Capitol Hill for nightlife, restaurants and entertainment; Pioneer Square for its vintage architecture and character etc.)

4. What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of being a real estate broker?

Challenging: The market is always changing. It’s so important for brokers to be constantly informed and engaged.

Gratifying: with that constant change, no two days are the same. There’s always something new to look forward to and it’s always exciting

5. What do you foresee in the real estate market as we head into Winter?

Homebuyers can look forward to less competition for listings and a greater chance to close sales quickly and easily.

6. Do you have any advice for someone looking to buy or sell a home in today’s competitive market?

Do your homework and don’t hesitate to put your agent to work. Think of them as a trusted and knowledgeable partner in one of your biggest life and financial decisions. Also, keep an open mind but be very clear about your ‘must-haves’ when looking at a variety of homes.

7. Tell us about you! Where did you grow up and where do you currently reside?

I grew up in the South End. I went to Junior High and High School in Puyallup and moved to Seattle right after. I have lived in the city for a little over 15 years now (with the exception of studying art and architecture in Rome for a short time)

8. What are your passions or hobbies outside of real estate?

I am very passionate about animal welfare. I love dogs and try to volunteer, foster and support a number of animal rescues. I also stay involved in the arts community by volunteering for Artist Trust, Arts Fund and working at the Seattle Art Fair each year.

9. What are your favorite things to do in the area?

Look at real estate!

10. Why should someone choose you as their real estate broker?

It’s such a privilege to be involved in helping people realize their home-owning dreams and help with such a big financial life decision.  I know that it takes a lot of trust to do that and I will never take that for granted. I care about each of my clients as if they are my close friend or family member and I only want the best for them.
