Brenden DuBois joined Pointe3 after relocating back to the Seattle area. He spent many years working in human services, management, and customer service fields, but has always maintained a strong desire to work in real estate. He took the skill set that he learned from his previous careers and channeled them into his passion for assisting people buy or sell their homes.

His love of people and the buying and selling experience helps him greatly when discerning and understanding what his clients are looking for in finding a new home. Brenden carries his passion for all aspects of life into the deals he is part of and is a wonderful addition to the Point3 brokerage team.

I sat down with Brenden to learn more about him for this week’s Agent Spotlight!

1. When and why did you get started in real estate?

I first became interested in real estate when my wife and I lived in Southern California and bought (and then sold) our home. We had a great home buying/selling experience with our realtor down there and it really began to pique my interest. I enjoyed the overall process of looking at areas, homes, and market trends during our search. I began my career in real estate as I was looking for a career that would allow me to work with great colleagues and clients. I enjoy that the industry is project based and with each client comes a new and exciting set of desires and wants. I also appreciated the fact that this industry allows for a semi-flexible work schedule which lets me spend more time with my wife and son.

2. When did you join Pointe3 Real Estate?

I began to talk to Emma and Carrie about the possibility of joining Pointe3 in early 2016 and officially joined the team in May.

3. Why did you join Pointe3 Real Estate?

I joined Pointe3 because I really enjoyed the team environment that has been cultivated. I personally enjoy helping to develop others so Pointe3 was a perfect fit for me as that is a huge aspect of their business model.

4. What neighborhood(s) do you specialize in?

I specialize in the Greater Seattle area but am also expanding to North Seattle, Bellevue, and Issaquah. However, I am available to any area where there is a need for a broker.

5. What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of being a real estate broker?

The most challenging things about being a real estate broker are the variances that each transaction has. It is very common for unexpected things to occur throughout the buying or selling process. There is always something new to learn, and although that is challenging, I find it to be very exciting.

The most gratifying aspect of being a real estate broker is seeing the joy that is brought to our clients when we find them the perfect home for their season in life. I very much enjoy being able to dream with my clients and hear how they plan to utilize their new homes in the future.

6. What do you foresee in 2016/2017’s real estate market?

I foresee more of what the past year has brought. Even more jobs are being added in and around Seattle and with that will come more people moving into the city. Demand for housing doesn’t seem to be slowing down!

7. Do you have any advice for someone looking to buy or sell a home in today’s competitive real estate market?

I believe that if you are planning on buying or selling a home you need come prepared. If you are buying, I suggest getting pre-approved, have your finances in order as best as you can, and then be prepared to submit the best offer you can in a competitive market. If you are selling, make sure your house is clean and move-in ready and expect to receive a handful of offers.

8. Tell us about you! Where did you grow up and where do you currently reside?

I was born and raised in the Bellevue/Issaquah area. My parents still reside in the house I grew up in. My wife, son, and I currently live in the Laurelhurst community of Seattle. We love living in our neighborhood as we have access to a handful of restaurants, parks, and grocery stores. The area is also very family friendly, which we really appreciate.

9. What are your passions or hobbies outside of real estate?

Outside of real estate, I am hugely active in our church. I serve as the music director and so that is a large part of our family life. We also love going to new restaurants, coffee shops, concerts, and enjoying all the creative aspects that living in Seattle offers.

10. What are your favorite things to do in Seattle?

My favorite things to do in Seattle include going to Mariners or Seahawks games. I also enjoy hitting up the new hipster eateries that pop up almost weekly in Seattle.

11. Why should someone choose you as their real estate broker?

I feel that people should choose me as their real estate broker because I am highly motivated to find the perfect place for each client. I recognize that everyone has something different they are looking for and I do my best to listen intently to what those desires are and then begin the hunt. One of my goals as a broker is to always know what the current market trends are in the industry. I strive to be as knowledgeable as possible in order to find my clients their dream home or sell their home for maximum value!
