Gerard LeConte III joined Pointe3 Real Estate in March 2014, shortly after earning his degree. Gerard’s attention to detail, drive, and open and consistent communication are just a few of the reasons that he is a wonderful asset to the Pointe3 team.

I sat down with Gerard to learn more about him for this week’s agent spotlight!

When and why did you get started in real estate?

I got started in real estate in March 2014 after earning my Bachelors of Arts in Urban Studies from the University of Washington in Tacoma. I decided to begin a career in real estate because I really enjoy helping people turn tasks that seem convoluted and overwhelming, like buying, selling, or leasing a home, into easily digestible and achievable goals.

Why did you join Pointe3 Real Estate?

Ever since my first phone interview with Kevin Tisdel, the owner and designated broker of Pointe3, I knew that Kevin was the type of leader that would know how to recognize and maximize my potential. In essence, Pointe3 is a team based working model that encourages everyone to work together as much as possible, and I believe that attitude is vital to a sustainable and thriving firm.

What neighborhood(s) do you specialize in?

I specialize, but am not limited to, the Belltown, Downtown, Queen Anne, Fremont, and Wallingford neighborhoods of Seattle and Old Town, Downtown, and North Tacoma.

What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of being a real estate broker?

It isn’t uncommon for someone seeking a real estate specialist to be skeptical about hiring an agent my age. It can be difficult to express and prove my competence without being able to show a decade of experience as credibility. That being said, I’m even more determined to go above and beyond for the clients that take me on because I acknowledged that they were willing to take a chance on a young agent in a market that offers numerous of seasoned agents with years of experience. In the same vein, I get most excited about seeking out opportunities to integrate experiences unique to my generation into an ever-evolving industry like real estate. The most gratifying aspect of this job is the conversations I get to have with my clients that relieve them of the anxieties of real estate and get them excited about their opportunities.

What do you foresee in 2016’s real estate market?

2016 will continue to prove that this market is unprecedented in the Pacific Northwest. Those of us who were born and raised here have long known that there’s no better place to live in the country than around the Puget Sound. Now it seems that everyone else is catching on and turning our humble real estate market into one of the most competitive in America.

Do you have any advice for someone looking to buy or sell a home in today’s competitive real estate market?

Be patient, and don’t get discouraged! For sellers: make sure your agent has a detailed and scheduled plan for selling your home. Otherwise, they will leave money on the table. For buyers: it may seem like it’s impossible to get into a house in this market, but patience, and the help of a good agent, will make your goals a reality.

Tell us about you! Where did you grow up and where do you currently reside?

I grew up in various communities around the Puget Sound, and I currently reside in Stadium District in Tacoma. I love Seattle, and I’m excited every morning when I make the I-5 trek to our office in Fremont. But Stadium District is my home, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

What are your passions or hobbies outside of real estate?

I’m a true Pacific Northwesterner. I like good hikes, good food, good drinks, and a good ball-game. Give me at least one of those things, and I’m a happy camper.

What are your favorite things to do in Seattle?

There isn’t much better than enjoying dinner with my fiancé, Kaitlyn, and then taking a stroll around Greenlake or visiting Gasworks Park. If it’s football season, I look forward to watching some morning football at Slugger’s before heading over to the Clink for a Seahawks game.

Why should someone choose you as their real estate broker?

I excel at translating seemingly complicated real estate processes into easily digestible plans of action. If I’m your real estate agent you will not left guessing what is next on the agenda. I’m dedicated to consistent and clear communication and finding good answers to your questions if they’re not readily available. I also make sure that I’m using the most current and effective tools to accomplish your real estate goals. Most importantly, my strongest asset is the team I work with.
